hey guys, very sorry i can't speak french, try my best learning it now!
I just moved to Nice, a big fun of fss and gundam.
I would love to make some friends here and exchange the experiencs of making the model.

My friend and I are planning to open a shop here selling fss and gundam models and figures.
It will be great if you guys can help about the marketing research,like how much you guys pay for ur models and where do u guys get them from?

ps1. when u guys buy the model kit from japan and other sites, how much do u pay including the shipping?

Would be difficult to translate all of it but I can say that your project will be VERY difficult !

It's great that you want to do it. But clearly there is not enough customers for model kits, even Plamodel, in France.
And about dealing for Resin kit and stuff, there is Internet and website like HLJ, R10 and so on... That's how we manage all to buy anything !

The Gundam Adventure with Bandai in France was a failure. A catastrophy : the TV show was limited to half the episodes of Gundam Wing 10 years ago, and Gundam Seed on a cable TV with very little influence on the "manga market".
And FSS is not even known by anyone ! The manga was never translated here, the movie wasn't available in French... No one, but the oldest fans in France know what it's about.

My two cents advise : try to build and paint anime character figures for the collector market. There can be a motivation for some fans... But be aware that most of them don't even know the price of a resin kit. They all think that a model can be paid 20 euros (like for the toys or vinyl kits sale nowadays !).

it does not surprise us much in France as many girls back of the figurine and a bit of gundam.

To answer your question in one of your posts there is no club or equivalent to model gundam style of my knowledge. but military models club and equivalant yes.

for the purchase of our kit from most of us buy them on Japanese sites. HLJ, and rainbow hobbysearch ten by example. nothing to say beyond what was said Youli:)
and no more for the popularity of the gundam licence :/

that's really helpful. I don't know how much do u guys pay for ur models.
but i believe that there will be some crazy fans like me would love to have some special collections.

the main purpose for me to open the shop is that to make more and more ppl get to know about gundam and other animations, introducing them to start make their own model and ofc make some friends.

I was origanlly from china, live in england for many years, however i found the weather there was too depress, that's why I moved to Nice. LOve here so much! j'aime!

Im taking french class right now, and don't have many friends here just yet. Im so glad that u guys are nice and friendly.

How old are you ? are you student now or actively in the creation of your project?

I'm originally from Nice, and I'm now in north-east of France for work, but I go sometimes to Nice for the hollyday.

I can say the manga and toy market is difficult in Nice, there was many manga and toys shops but a lot of them closed because of probelms exposed by Youli. Even the "historical" shop Akira and co (first manga shop in Nice and still open) know some difficulty today. There was 10 years they sold regulary some model kits but now it appear very difficult form them to sold kits (I see the same kit many years in their shop !), but the price was high as many french shop. And we have friend in paris who have shop who could say it's very difficult too.

Moreover, for my long time passed in Nice, I never meet people fan of mecha and gunpla. That's why I created Hobby Forever : to meet people loving plamo all around France !

So before begin your project, you must be very careful and work your businness plan very well.

For the price of model kits, each have a different price due to maker, scale, etc... but you can have an idea of price including shipping on http://www.hlj.com pages since prices was given in € too.
